Cape Town – South Africa

In October, the Meyer Family Adventures took us to Cape Town, South Africa.  We flew on Air Namibia from Luanda to Cape Town.  This was a bit of an adventure itself and a test of bravery.  As I am sure you can understand, my aspirations in life did not include a flight on Air Namibia.  The travel arrangements were terrific though.  We flew through Windhoek (the capital of Namibia) and were sitting right next to JC’s best friend from school.  It worked out fantastically.

The first few shots are of Cape Town from our hotel room on the V&A Waterfront.  Cape Town is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay.

Cape Town had great shopping and great food.  We arrived at the Hotel at about 10:00 pm.  The boys were asleep, but Beth and I were hungry.  I went out a found a KFC around the corner from the hotel.  It was unbelievable.  You have not idea what a luxury it is to walk to a fast food restaurant and buy food.  We aren’t allowed to walk outside the compound, we don’t have fast food and you wouldn’t want to eat it if we did.  There were also all sorts of street performers and artists.  The following is a picture of Beth with a particularly colorful street performer.

Here are a couple of pictures of the boys at the Trading Post where Beth purchased our Zebra rug.

Table Mountain overlooks Cape Town and is breath taking.  You travel up a very steep cable car to get to the top of the mountain.

Finally, the boys and I took a tour of the harbor and were joined by a seal.
